Bohannan Huston, Inc. recently completed the largest ZI DMC project in the United States by a per digital aerial frame (33,148 frames) for the North Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). The project was completed on schedule even with the difficulties of bad weather during the digital imagery acquisition last winter. BHI subcontractor 3001, Inc. performed the acquisition and also successfully coordinated over the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, one of the busiest airports in the country.

BHI was responsible for creating 0.5' natural color orthophotography for 7,135 square miles covering 7 counties. The project had a partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) to provide services for the ground control paneling and surveying for the project. There was also training sessions provided to the NCTCOG GIS members on how the ZI DMC digital workflow is processed and leveraging the newly-acquired digital orthophotography.

BHI also provided the value added services by supplying a web-based communication and reporting system and ECW compressed orthophotography of individual tiles and county-wide mosaics. In addition, the spatial data group of of BHI is producing true orthophotos of the downtown area of Dallas.
