BHI has been subcontracted by 3001, Inc. in the production of new, 1-meter natural color DOQQ's for the entire State of New Mexico. This is a very unique project because of the consortium of local, county, state, tribal, and federal agencies participating in the program. The main agency that spearheaded the new acquisition was the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer to support their hydrographic surveys for the state.

To the best of our knowledge, by frame count, this is the second largest ZI DMC project (20,400 frames) in the United States. It is the first statewide DOQQ project utilizing the ZI DMC large format sensor. The project encompasses 145,500 square miles and collected 1-meter RGB/CIR/PAN digital aerial imagery. Currently, the project is only funded for a RGB 1-meter DOQQ product but there are currently agencies identifying areas of interest for CIR.

The project required 6 field survey crews paneling and controlling 145 statewide control points in 13 days. Control Data Sheets were delivered for each point summarizing location, accuracy, and point photographs. Acquisition occurred during the summer of 2005 and a full delivery will be made by spring of 2006.
